Why the fat-burning zone is misunderstood

How to estimate a target heart rate for fat loss
The AHA describes moderate intensity as roughly 50% to 70% of age-predicted maximum and vigorous intensity as roughly 70% to 85%.

For age 40, the estimated maximum is 180 bpm. The moderate range is approximately 90 to 126 bpm, and the vigorous range is approximately 126 to 153 bpm.
